Life In Him

I am linking up with another blog! I want to share with you a scripture that God is really working on me with right now. If you have scripture or a testimony to share, go to We Don't Have It All Together  and link up!!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Also, I am learning a lot about prayer and my privilege to intercede on the behalf of my husband, my children, my friends and family, and the needs of our country and world. A few years back, after we suffered a miscarriage, I had lost faith in prayer. After all, I had prayed for our baby's health from the moment we were aware she was growing in me. I had faith that God was real and was our creator, but didn't fully understand his goodness, sovereignty, or desire to hear our prayers anymore. I was angry. I was let down and hurting. Why pray? What was the point.

I have to admit, I am still struggling with how to put into words the answers to those questions, even though my faith has embraced prayer again. I guess you could say my faith is still like a child in this area. I pray because I am told to by my creator. I pray because his word promises that he does hear me. He does love me. He is sovereign. Bottom line, I know the word of God is true. So, I pray!

One more thought...I said my faith in prayer was like a child's. This is another area I have been learning the significance of. If you have children in your home, you know how they depend on you for every move they make. You feed them, clothe them, if young enough even help them to move. They must ask and seek guidance for EVERY little step they take. We are to be like this with God. I pray that I don't "grow up." I pray that I never feel that I should take any step without seeking my Father first.

Hi, thanks so much for linking up with "Monday's Life In Him".

I loved reading your verse & everything you said is so true for a lot of us - in some areas my faith is like a child's. I can relate.

You have a beautiful family, you are very blessed! I always though of adopting, but I don't see it happening.

I hope you have a great week!

What a beautiful and honest post. We too miscarried a few years back and experienced the same thoughts, feelings, and prayers that you did. Our God is amazing!!! So glad he is our father. We love you!

My conversations are struggling right now. Trying very hard to reconnect and find my voice for prayer again.
Thanks for the reminder!
